Sprayberry High School PTSA

2016-2017 PTSA Budget Update

We’d like to thank all who joined PTSA and who supported our only fundraiser, the PTSA Arts & Crafts Show, in November 2016. Your financial support and your volunteer efforts made for a successful year. Here’s where the money went:

– $10,000 awarded to SHS seniors (college scholarships; more than any school in the area!)

– $6,800 awarded to SHS teachers in the form of teacher grants (to pay for items not covered in county budget)

– $2000 awarded to students in need of financial assistance to take the AP Exams (need determined by SHS staff)

– $1500 awarded to support Shop with a Yellow Jacket

– $250 awarded to support Read Across America

– $250 awarded to support the ECHO Pageant

– $550 awarded to support Spruce Up Sprayberry

– $450 awarded to support Special Needs Dance

– $50 awarded to support Art Show

-$2040 awarded to ROTC to support their trip to Navy Nationals

– $579 spent to fund Welcome Back Lunch for staff in July 2016 (out of $1500 budgeted, saving almost $1000!)

– $1090 spent on Teacher Appreciation Week lunch (out of $1400 budgeted)

– $219 spent on Ice Cream Social for student and staff PTSA members in February (out of $250 budgeted)

-$247 spent on Honors Night (out of $1500 budgeted)

We hope you are pleased with the allocation of resources and priorities within our budget. The majority of the money spent went directly to support our students and staff in their academic pursuits. If you have questions, comments, or suggestions please email us. We look forward to continuing our service to students, staff, families and community members next year.
